|Pinnacle Pointe has a demanding traditional academic program with a classical emphasis that provides students a solid, balanced education
which utilizes basic time tested knowledge and skills in history, languages, literature, math, reading, science and the arts that become increasingly complex
throughout the course of study. Standards are set high in the firm belief that higher standards will lead to higher student achievement.
As a general rule, preptv does not post the last name of elementary students while identifying their participation in a school activity or promoting their accomplishment in Knowledge, Character,
and Leadership. Likewise preptv does not include any reference to a student in a posted jpeg or mpeg image file name. These precautions should eliminate parental concerns about a child being
identified as the result of an Internet search. However, in the event that a parent is uncomfortable with a posted text or image, preptv will remove the text or image upon notification.

Pinnacle's academic policies are designed to ensure
student safety and promote achievement in the classroom.
Students excel in reading and math through Pinnacle's unique academic
blocking where students are challenged according to ability level not grade level.
The Spalding Method
A total language arts approach that quickly enables students to learn
the mechanics of reading and enjoy the benefits of good literature.
A skills based program that introduces new concepts daily while
allowing for continual review of previously taught material.
A program to provide your student with two important ingredients for
success: a love of the English language and an ability to use the
English language correctly, with ease and confidence.
A vocabulary program that provides direct vocabulary instruction,
enhance reading comprehension, and use vocabulary in context.
Students build their reading vocabularies while simultaneously
strengthening their reading, critical thinking, and writing skills.
Core Knowledge guides the overall curriculum and ensures a high
degree of academic excellence by establishing strong foundations of
knowledge grade by grade.
Students are expected to attend class each day and may only receive
an excused absence for: illness, death in the family, doctor and dental
appointments, family emergency, pre-arranged parent request, and
religious holiday observance. The office must be notified of an absence
by 9:00 am.
Students arriving after 8:00 am are tardy and must be signed in at the
office by a parent. On the fourth monthly tardy, and for each
subsequent tardy, the student will receive after school detention.
Excessive tardies could result in suspension.
Morning Drop Off
Students may be dropped off between 7:30-8:00 am at the designated
location. Students arriving after 8:00 am are tardy and must be signed
in at the office by a parent.
School is released at 3:00 pm. Students are escorted to a vehicle by a
staff member and only released to persons listed on the student's
emergency card. All students must be picked up by 3:25 pm.
Corrective Action Plan
Although Pinnacle students strive for behavioral as well as academic
excellence, there are times when a student's actions need to be
corrected. When this occurs, teachers will usually notify parents of the
classroom disruption and ask for parental assistance in bringing the
student's behavior into compliance. Normally, the following process is
used to assist students in correcting unacceptable behavior.
1. Specific Classroom Steps
2. Buddy Rooms
3. After School Detention*
Behaviors that cannot be brought into compliance are referred to
administration and the Principal. The Principal's decision is final.
4. In School Suspension*
5. Out of School Suspension*
6. Long Term Suspension*
* - Parental notification.
