Reading Week & Fall Book Fair

Weeklong Events

Scholastic Book Fair- Our Fall Scholastic Book Fair will run all week during Reading Week. Students may come peruse the amazing books available between 7:30 am – 7:50am on Monday – Friday. Families will also be able to purchase items at the fair during our Family Literacy Night on Tuesday, September 10th. Families may also utilize online ordering here (link available soon).  

Read-A-Thon– Students will each be given a Reading Log to keep track of their reading for the week. Although it is a great way to challenge yourself to read more just for fun, prizes will also be available for the individuals who read the most from each class and the individual who read the most for all of PPA!

Weekday Events 

Family Literacy Night: Tuesday, September 10th at 5:00 pm– Join us for our Family Literacy Night where we will have resources available to support your student’s love of reading. The Book Fair will also be available for those unable to attend the morning times. 

Little Red Hen Performance: Wednesday, September 11th – Preschool through second grade students will get to enjoy a puppet show performance by the Great Arizona Puppet Theater. 

Storybook Character Dress-Up Day: Friday, September 13th– Students may dress up as their favorite storybook character! Make sure to bring the storybook containing you character to school on Friday. Please, ensure that your spirit attire is school-appropriate (no sleeveless attire, no open toe shoes, no toy/prop weapons, appropriate).

This fun-filled week will provide an opportunity for our youngest students to feel comfortable with the layout and structure of school while enhancing Kindergarten readiness skills through purposeful play activities!

 

Activities will include outdoor recess (weather permitting), story time, technology, crafts, imaginary play, snack time, and more!

Spring Conferences, Early Dismissal

Second semester Parent/Teacher/Student conferences will take place on Thursday, February 21st and Friday, February 22nd. These conferences present an important opportunity for us to discuss your child’s progress and set specific goals for the remainder of the school year. It is strongly encouraged that you attend with your child.

 Students will have early releases on Thursday, February 21st and Friday, February 22nd beginning at 12pm. After 12:30pm, all students who have been previously signed up for Panther’s Den will be welcomed there. As always on Early Release days, the Café will be closed so all students in in Panther’s Den must bring lunch.

 For scheduling purposes, all Pinnacle Pointe Academy teachers will be using the website signupgenius.com to schedule Parent-Teacher Conferences. You can access the electronic sign-up form by visiting the teacher’s webpage under “Contact/Inform Us” on goppa.org.
